Italy
I went to Italy for Spring Break as a sophomore with two friends. This trip was a long time in the making, as I originally was set to go during my first trip abroad the year before. Unfortunately, my experience with the police in Madrid cut my trip a little short and I cancel all of my plans. To finally reach Italy was a moment of relief for the piece of me that wondered about what would have been and if I would ever even make it all.
Not only did I get to go, but I also got to stay with my friend Isabella who was studying abroad in Florence for the semester. To be in a city I had dreamt about, with someone I have known and cherished since 3rd grade was indescribable. In hindsight, I suppose certain things in life just have their own timing, and the struggle is understanding that we can’t rush or slow anything down.
